Mr. Writer (AKA Ahmed H. Sharma) is a Young Scholar/Blogger and Historian (in-the making). He is also a self-proclaimed, Writer, Reviewer, Commentator, and Student Activist, born and raised in Houston, TX. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Houston, where he minored in Philosophy. Currently, he resides in San Antonio, TX where he is pursuing a Master’s Degree in History at the University of Texas in San Antonio.
His research interests in History are Muslim Communities in the United States i.e., the Nation of Islam, Islamic Studies, African American Studies, Africana Identity in Islam, Imperialism, Colonialism and Political Globalization in South Asia and the Middle East, Colorism in the United States & India, History of Emotion, Civil War and Reconstruction Era History, Race & Ethnicity, Religion and Gender discrimination in the United States, as well as Philosophical History. His philosophical interests are the study of Ethics, Philosophy of Film, Philosophy of Religion, Metaphysics, Existentialism and Aesthetics.
Though he is still in the baby-step phase in his journey to being a full-fledged Historian, he has made his mark by attending and presenting his own work at two different Historical Research Conferences. The first when he was 18 at the Bicentennial Celebration of the War of 1812 at Stephen F. Austin State University (the school he attended prior to transferring to University of Houston) where he presented his paper: The War of 1812: Who Won and Why Does It Matter? and the Second conference at 21 at The World Wars Student Research Conference and presented his paper: Explosive Decisions: The Use of the Atomic Bomb in World War II
When he is not writing, his hobbies include spending time with family, friends, and his cat, reading, watching plays, listening to music, watching and collecting movies.
